Descent of Man

Charles Darwin first illustrated an evolutionary explanation of beards in 'The Descent of Man', in which he hypothesized that the process of sexual selection may have led to beards. Females find hirsute suitors sexy. Explanations for the existence of beards include signalling sexual maturity and signalling dominance by increasing perceived size of jaws, and clean-shaved faces are rated less dominant than bearded. Detractors may deny it, but modern biologists have reaffirmed Darwin's theory with evidence that the ladies find mates with beards more attractive than their clean-shaven brethren.

My hair on my beard tend to get tangled. I put in oil to ensure the hair stay in position, and this works to a point. I needed to get a comb to alleviate this issue and to remove any impurities in my beard. This handmade comb by 'Sir Reginalds' has been fantastic. Its beautifully made and strong scented of gorgeous sandalwood. Its easy to use, and always goes into my pocket. It keeps my beard looking luxurious and the hair straight. No more curly, unkempt hair for me now and my family and friends have all observed how much better the maintenance of my beard has become. All Thanks to my 'Sir Reginald'

Beards are basically a fashion statement now aren't they really? But some people just need a little helping hand with the maintenance, hopefully this is ringing a few bells.

I hope you will find this review useful and gives you more of an idea of the product and why we have rated it a HUGE 5 stars!

My husband has had a beard now for 6 months and with a little gentle nudge from me is now taking more care with it. This includes trimming and oil to keep it in tip top condition! The problem he was having was getting the trimmed look without taking too much off the length. So we started doing our research and getting an idea of what would be the best solution. This is how we found this comb. We chose it as it was from the same brand as the beard oil he uses and was really high quality but still cheaper than equivalents on the high street.

Beard Comb Heaven!, 14 Jun. 2016

This is such a lovely wooden comb. It has a nice heavy weight and feel about it. I bought it with my husbands beard in mind.... but I'm wishing it was mine as I fancy keeping it myself to go through my long, thick hair! (I did try it and it felt great) It is wonderfully smooth in the hand, wide-toothed and doesn't drag or pull the hair. There is a little engraved motif (a bearded head) on one side and the words ' Sir Reginalds' engraved on the other side. It reeks of 'hipster'....which my husband is not.... (if only he looked like the guy in the photo!)... however I'm sure he'll be delighted come father's day when he is presented with this from my daughters. He grooms his beard himself and I reckon this comb will aid his endeavours in the trimming department by being much easier to glide through the tangle that is his beard. I'm not sure I'd use it in the shower, or get it wet at all. The finish feels like satin, as if it has been oiled rather than varnished. Water would...
