Razors, Tweezers and Epilators are going in the bin!, 16 May 2015

I have been considering buying a Home IPL device for some time but as reviews always seem to be mixed and they are expensive I have never gotten around to it. Before I go any further I think I should also state that I have attended salons for IPL treatment and it definitely does work. At the moment I am in the position of some patches of hair that the salon treatments have missed and it is to treat these that I wanted to purchase the IPL as if I returned to the salon I would have to pay for a full course simply to treat some patches.

When I received this I was impressed before even opening the box - as another reviewer mentioned - it is very posh looking. The expensive box contains the handheld IPL scanner unit, power cord, storage bag and instructions. I bought this product after hearing about the IPL method although at the price it was a bit of a chance not knowing whether it would work for me. I have tried every epilator going and was an avid user of this method but would find that epilation for me only lasted a week or so. Hair would grow back finer but a lot would grow back. I have found this device absolutely fantastic and I wish I found it sooner, the only reason I have given it 4 stars is because it is not cordless and I believe if they can get their next upgrade with this feature it would be one of the best methods on the market.

It may not work for everyone but I have brown hair and fairly dark hair, I tan easily and have used it with a tan. I would recommend not to use if you have been in the sun. I made this mistake and the skin is very sensitive and it can sting a little on the darker areas of skin. I was a hardened epilator user, so used to a fairly high pain threshold. My best investment yet!, 1 Aug. 2015

I can only rave about this product. I bought it direct from the supplier. I've previously used the e-one from e-swin laser that is manufactured in France, it was the most powerful laser for private use. It was a very bulky machine, with cartridges costing £100 each time with just 3000 zaps. It cost £1200 at the time (5 years ago) so I've just never thought about buying another and persevered for years with it until I came across the Smoothskin recently and took the chance after reading the reviews and can honestly say it's the best investment I've made.

I used to be VERY hairy (I'm male) with thick coarse hair. Absolutely hate hair. I've been using the e-one by e-swim for 5 years now, although it reduced the hair in places, it was just too time consuming as there was about a 3 second pause between each zap. I ended up just using it on my face as I had lost patience with any other part of my body.
