Best and most comfortable shave in my opinion, 26 Sept. 2013

I have previously used many different shaving gels, foams and oils from brands such as King of Shaves, Gillette, Nivea Wilkinson, The Shaving company, Jason and Nature's Gate. They all had disadvantages from causing razor burn to leaving abrasions. I'm very pleased to have discovered Somersets Extra Sensitive Shaving gel as it is the smoothest shave I've ever had and leaves no razor burn or irritation afterwards. I also like the fact that many of the ingredients are natural and there's no nasty chemicals like SLS and parabens which are commonly found in commercial mass market products such as Gillette.

I initially purchased one bottle of Somersets and this has lasted me nearly 2 weeks now with shaving 3 or 4 times a week.I later bought 4 more. Thing to remember is that this is a gel and not a foam so you do need to be very generous with how much you use per shave but I expect a bottle should last me 3 weeks which although is a shorter lifespan than Gillette ToughBeard gives me a...

It's made from natural ingredients and is the best shaving product I've ever used. Although it's a gel, it doesn't foam-up like gel in a can, but this means you can see where you need to shave more easily, and it leaves a residue on your skin to moisturise it. They make shaving oil too, but I don't feel that any shave oils work as well as this gel, nor do they last as long as they come in a tiny bottle.Tips: I first hold a hot flannel against my face for 30+ seconds to soften my stubble. Then I apply the gel to my face and massage it until there is a very slight lather. The gel on your face can dry out before you get to that part of your face, so I ensure that my face stays moist by occasionally dipping the blade into a basin of hot water and sometimes by dabbing my wet fingers on my face. Re-apply the gel if necessary.

Had high hopes but it made me bleed. Disappointed as it has great ingredients. I have had to mix it with my normal foam to stop bleeding.
