This is the first time that I have ever used a hair straightener so I have nothing to compare it to but I certainly liked the results that were produced by this hair straightening brush.
My hair is quite straight to begin with but I was after a sleeker look than I can manage with a hair dryer and brush alone so I ordered this as I figured it wouldn't dry my hair out as much as plate straighteners would. Because I have thick hair, and having no experience of hair straighteners, I initially assumed that I'd have to put it on the highest heat setting. I found that setting too hot though and had to turn it down a little. I found it quite relaxing pulling it through my hair and loved how sleek my hair looked after using it. Having washed, dried and brushed my hair prior to its use I found it went through my hair with ease. The brush has a reasonably long cord and did not tangle easily.

On plugging the brush in and turning it on you can set the temperature you desire with the up or down buttons then the temperature will be seen to increase as you wait until it hits the desired level (I chose 210c for my hair due the amount of hair I have). Heating takes 1 or 2 minutes at the most and then the brush is ready to use.
The brush has a digital temperature read out on the back of the handle, and an on/off key
with a + (plus) and - (minus) button for raising and lowering the temperature.
The brush / bristles are quite rigid (not soft like a brush) but give a nice massaging feel while straighting your hair.
This brush straightens my hair well, but not as well as actual straighteners.
I find this brush works really well on the longer parts of my hair, mainly the sides and fringe. It's not easy to use it on the back part of my hair.

I have had a set of these hair-straightening brushes before; my friend loved them so I gave them to her as I have rather straight hair. My friend has thick hair, which has a natural wave to it. But I ended up missing them; I didn’t think I would have, but they made my hair nice and shiny. So I ordered myself a new set.
My order arrived quickly, these are simple to use, plug them in and they warm up quickly. I made the mistake of not brushing my hair before using them and it hurt as it pulled through, so make sure you brush your hair first.
You can adjust the temperature up to 230 °C by pressing the -/+ buttons on the side of the brush.
