Product: TONI&GUY Daily Conditioning Dryer

My wife and daughter fought over this one and both have their input for the review.

WHAT'S TO LIKE?

Lightweight. My wife especially liked the fact this was lighter than her existing dryer, thus making it easier to use and more maneuverable.

Good speeds although like all dryers it gets noisy at high speed.

The cool button a great boon for when things are getting too hot.

Long cord, so vital when plugging something into a wall socket and using the wardrobe mirror some distance away.

Daughter: Ionic Technology is great marketing speak but there has been no tangible difference to the quality of her hair, she says. My daughter states that it categorically reduces static (she has a problem with frizz anyway).

Well made, high class, adequate power, good variable speed and heat settings, 22 Sept. 2015

Toni & Guy have developed a range of hair dryers and hair styling appliances, many of them of professional quality, although this more compact Ionic 2000W model is mainly intended for household use, but it could be used professionally. It claims the Ionic function ensures your hair is fully protected whilst drying for ultimate high shine & conditioned locks. It is certainly an excellent dryer, but perhaps that claim is slight over-hyped? The high shine is mainly sales talk, but it certainly does leave the hair feeling silky smooth, and very pleasant to the touch. Rated at 2000 Watts this dryer certainly has adequate heating and blowing power.

This dryer includes an ‘ionic function’, which basically uses negative ions (electrically charged atoms) to protect your hair and retain its frizz. Static is also reduced. Excellent for the price, 24 Oct. 2015

The appearance of this hairdryer is OK - it's nicely designed if a little plasticky - the shiny metal-look plastic at theh back is hardly convincing - but it's OK and has a nice soft orange "on" light which glows sweetly when it's on.

The cord length of 3 metres is fantastic, allowing you to plug in wherever suits you - and as I use hairdryers to dry off the last bits of dampness on my body when I've had a shower, this is particularly useful for me.

It has two speeds and two heat settings which I think are well-judged. It's surprisingly quiet and a comfortable warmth on the lowest heat and speed settings, but if you do want to dry fasters the higher speed and heat are effective without being too excessive, and the noise is acceptable even on a higher speed.

It has a "cool shot" button but as with all hairdryers with such a feature, the air is still warmish because all it does it shut the heating element off, but residual heat remains,...
