Good for travel, 17 Feb. 2011

I originally bought the large, pink tangle teezer. Wasn't too fond of the colour but the main problem I found with it was that the bristles became damaged in the suitcase when travelling, so I bought the compact styler version. The bristles are very much protected by the cover and I find it easier to hold than the larger version. I do find, though, that because the bristles are shorter (than the larger version), it's not as effective in tackling tangles (still better than standard hair brushes, though). I now use the pink regularly and use the compact only when travelling. Although (very) good for tangles, I don't find them particularly good for styling, so you may still need a standard brush as well.

No more tears!, 31 Mar. 2015

We have a few tangle teaser brushes in our house, as they are the only brushes that my three year old will allow us to use on her long hair. Unlike other brushes, this brush does not pull and hurt her, even when her hair has become knotted. We brush her hair with it after washing and morning and evening. It's made a huge difference in that brushing her hair is no longer a tearful battle. She has quite straight hair.I however have very curly hair, and like every other brush I have ever tried, it doesn't work for me without making my hair rather frizzy, although I find it very useful with wet hair when just stepping out of the shower.However, for my little girl it works brilliantly and they have been a really good purchase. I like this shiny purple one - we bought it in a store a while ago - my daughter prefers the pink ones!

Great for kids, 11 Dec. 2011

I bought this to use as a regular everyday hairbrush for my 4-yr-old daughter who has curly, tangly hair. Or I should say, used to have tangly hair as since using this, we have stopped having a problem brushing her hair after her hair wash. I actually can't understand how or why it works, needless to say, it just does. Every now and then when we misplace this brush, I fetch my own comb or brush to do her hair (which works fine on my thick but straight hair) and realise that actually her hair is still tangly and she does cry out in pain as I try to get my brush through it.

I chose the compact version for my daughter as the regular size seemed a bit too big for a small child and this has in fact turned out to be a perfect size for her. It also fits in my hand very comfortably. I love the plastic cover which protects the flexible bristles from getting crushed. I think the large size should also come with this as bristles do seem very delicate and have bent the odd time I have...
