Superior to oil as it is easier to clean off your hands and is kinder to your brush. Pretty much unscented so won't interfere with your soap/cream scent. Due to its diminutive size, I thought I'd only require a small amount but actually needed to use more so I don't envisage this lasting much beyond 25 - 30 shaves so this could be quite a cost if you shave regularly.

Performance wise, the gel doesn't seem particularly slick so I was concerned that razor glide wouldn't be vastly improved. I shaved with a Feather blade (my second experience with this brand after the bloodbath that was my foray into safety razor shaving 12 months ago) and came out unscathed. I'm not sure if this is down to the gel or 12 months of honing my technique so I'm still not convinced that pre-shave treatments are very effective.

Overall the gel has its positives but these are all negated by the lack of value for money. If cost is a factor, I would recommend trying other brands before...

Disappointing, 11 July 2015
I've pretty much given up on pre-shave treatments now. I prefer to use a really good no-foam or slightly foaming shaving cream.This is OK. It is quite slick, it doesn't smell horrible (or of anything much, for that manner), but like a lot of my TrueFitt/TOBS stuff, it's heading for the bin as to be honest, it doesn't really work well enough to justify taking up shelf space.Quite disapppointing, for the price.

Excellent product, I have sensitive skin and this is great on that. Gives a far smoother shave, been using for a couple of years and shaves without it as horrible.
