These modern combs compare badly with their old-fashioned predecessors, 3 July 2015

The sidecombs look nice but sorry to say they are useless. I have given them to a charity shop. I have worn sidecombs all my adult life and am still clinging on to my last remaining ones made in 1950s or thereabouts. These slide nicely into the hair and remain there; in other words they do the job; these do not: they are scratchy, hard to push into the hair, start to fall out straightaway. I am not surprised as I have tried modern combs before, always useless, but I live in hope !

Perfect combs for staying in your hair. These combs have the thickened sides and bend to them (like their original predecessors which you could at one point pick up easily in shops but now are faced with these weird flat spindly things that either fall out of your hair or get caught in your hair - and then fall out!) - however, they are NOT tortoiseshell but an almost day-glo light tan colour. I would wear these but for the colour!!
