Quite a complicated process., 12 May 2016

I have experimented with the ladies version in this and they are basically exactly the same. My hair is very thin but there is a lot of it in parts. As bouncy hair with lots of volume is all the rage at the moment I thought I would have a second attempt and see if it would give me a little more volume than at the last attempt.It is supposed to be straightforward and on paper or in this case in the instructions it is, but the reality is a little different. I could not get the fibres to stick to my hair and the comb that is supplied in the kit just does not go through my hair properly. I worked on the principle of parting my hair at the thinnest points and pressed my hair over when I shook these fibres. I wonder if this works best on hair that is definitely thinning I parts and not on hair like mine that is thin all over but very plentiful. Really gave this my best shot but not for me as it made absolutely no improvement to my hair whatsoever.

Didn't work that well for me, 14 May 2016

To put it bluntly, I'm going bald. At the moment it's only really noticeable if you're taller than me or you happen to see the top of my head when I'm bent down. So this product appealed to me on that basis.Sadly it simply didn't appear to work all that well.It took a little trial and error to get the applicator working properly. At first I wasn't too sure whether any of the powder had come out and then I probably applied too much.It didn't really seem to "attach" to my hair and the results simply seemed to be some powder on my scalp. Perhaps it's better for thinning hair that has more left than mine! Or perhaps the thinning stretches across too much of my scalp.Nice idea, but didn't work in practice for me.

Economical and a nice applicator for an even look, 28 May 2016

Really simple to apply, and the comb applicator is an efficient way to get the product along the whole length of the hair rather than just have it sit on the top. It's trickier to use it around the fringe area though, as you'll invariably end up with fibres on your forehead - it takes a bit of practice to get an even application every time. The on/off switch is a nice addition, although there will always be a few fibres stuck to the comb bit that will brush off in your wash bag anyway, so it doesn't make a lot of difference.

You don't have to fix it in with anything, although normal hairspray seems to do a good job of that.

Viviscal seems a lot more economical than Toppik, although I think Toppik have better applicators (such as their puff-top one
