Clipper oil, 22 May 2014
This is a huge bottle, given that you use so little each time the clippers are used. As II am 62 I now have to decide who to leave the bottle to in my will!

Dramatically prolongs the life of your clipper or trimmer blades, 25 April 2011

The American company Wahl Clipper Corporation (now simply referred to as Wahl) have been manufacturing hair clippers and related products since 1919. The company is one of the leading names in this field. They know what makes a good hair clipper and how best to maintain them.

Hair clippers and trimmers all work on the same basic principal. Two layers of blades (or 'teeth') slide from side-to-side, in a cutting motion. When in use, the stainless steel teeth work in a very quick motion; the two levels of metal gliding over each other. This of course, causes friction. The friction, over time, can lead to the slow blunting and dulling of the teeth, meaning repeated work when trimming hair until finally the clipper or trimmer is of no use anymore.

In order to prevent this blade damaging friction, a few small drops or a thin line of oil to the sliding blades will lubricate between the layers of stainless steel, which in turn will...

Good oil, but keep upright!, 3 Sept. 2013
Unless you are a hairdresser then this is more oil than you will reasonably need - although that is not a negative thing! The oil does the job exactly as it should, just be careful not to over apply the oil to the blades as this can cause clogging and then dragging as it cuts. Just enough to moisten the blades should do it. The oil is thin enough to work its way along the blades when the clipper is running. One other thing to watch and where it loses a star from me - the cap is not particularly strong and will leak if not stored upright. Might be worth keeping it in the garage or shed, if it gets knocked over in the house and you don't notice then you could be looking at a lot of oil damage as this will damage plastics and stain wood
