Like many others I have just experienced the failure of the plastic retaining component in the blade set. Just like them I have been told by Wahl that this is not covered by the warranty since the blade set is a "wearable item". Quite clearly this is a design or manufacturing issue and has nothing to do with wear. Avoid Wahl and their products like the plague!

Broke after being used less than 50 times, 8 July 2012
With the professional reputation that Wahl has I was expecting better. Like several people here mine broke at the head, the lower blade came loose and now rattles around as a result of the two small plastic pins inside the head breaking. It did the job OK, no worse or better than the Philips shaver I had before that lasted for ages. Not recommended.

Broken, same problem as others, 18 Nov. 2012
After less than 10 uses the blades have become loose and clippers are not usable. This is the same problem as others have reported and as such I would say this product should be avoided. As the fault occured after the 1 year Amazon warranty had, expired the clippers are only now covered by WAHL 3yr warranty, which does not cover for blade assembley!
