I've used several clippers in the past and these are the best I've ever used! It comes with several attachments, scissors, a case even a battery operated nose trimmer, combs and clips.The only thing I have to point out is the instructions - this is NOT a wet and dry clipper, the only part that can be rinsed is the removable blade which you pull out you CAN'T use it in the shower and it SHOULDN'T be used in wet conditions. I've contacted Wahl regarding this and they are looking into changing their user manuals.

After owning a Wahl 9639-017 cordless clipper (the previous model to this) for the last three years, it finally packed up. This model arrived the other day and I can honestly say that I am disappointed. The blade on this newer model isn't as sharp as the the previous, and fails to cut with the precision when trimming your moustache. Where before one movement on the target area of hair would suffice, now you have to prod 2, 3 or 4 times to get the cut you want, and I'm unconvinced it is as good.

The trimming guards are now an inferior quality of plastic, which is more brittle, again, than the previous model's which also felt better on your face. I also think the polished chrome fascia near the button is pointless and will only require more cleaning.

I'm not one for standing in the way of progress, but it seems here, that what wasn't broken, didn't need fixing.

This trimming kit is supplied in a zip-up fabric storage case The body of this trimmer is rubberised and will not slip out of the hand, which is a major plus when you are trying to cut your own hair.

There is a blade guide fitted which tells you to oil blades before use, and indeed there is a vial of oil and a brush provided for maintenance.

In the kit is a pack of clip on trimming guides, numbers 1 to 8 and a right ear taper and a left ear taper guide too.

In addition there is a pair of finishing scissors, and a charger for the cordless trimmer. Also supplied is trimmer for those discreet places where men grow hair (the ears and nose). For this a single AA battery is required but not supplied.

This is a very effective kit and the results have been fine. Would you get a slightly better result from a hairdresser? Well, probably, but the whole point is that this brings hair trimming to a true DIY level, and it does it well.
