I contacted Westlab regarding the amount of silt left in my bath, which made for a very uncomfortable soak, before using it for cooking. They replied, stating it was food safe, so I conducted a basic experiment before contacting them again.

I half filled a 1.2l jar with your salt, and filled this up with almost boiling water, then agitated it, before leaving it to settle. Every day, I poured off the clear salt solution, and topped up the hot water. After seven days, when it was clear that no more particles would dissolve, I filtered the contents of the jar through kitchen paper. There were coarse particles of up to 3mm, which were of a similar size to those left in my bath, as well as finer brown silt which had coloured the bath water and left a layer of sediment when the water drained away. Unfortunately, I do not have the laboratory facilities at home that I had access to whilst conducting water solute and sediment tests at university. However, I am quite certain that the rock...

Used these in the summer for footbaths..did help to soothe and relax feet...as I cant get into bath or shower often... a bowl of cool water and these are a help....the salt does not dissolve easily and has a muddy residue(to be expected for natural product) that is left at the bottom of bowl..noticed it as my bowl is cream coloured. Best to dissolve salt in container in boiling water first then add to bowl or bath.
