Good Replacement Blades.

As these are replacement blades it makes more sense to comment on the actual razor that holds them.

So please bear with me.

Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Razor Blades are good and excellent value if you are able to use a blade cleaning system to prolong the life of the blades many times over.

But the 3 blade Hydro are just as good in my opinion and they actually seem to be able to be re sharpened better.

They do beat Gillette into a cocked hat.

I like them because they give a really great shave.

Excellent blades prior to the most recent incarnation, these have only improved still further. I am unsure what Wilkinson Sword have done to make these better but all I know is that I have used the original Hydro 5 for some time and so when the new improved version was offered I wanted to try it. I used to be a Gillette fan and found them the sharpest most comfortable blades in use prior to Hydro 5, but once the Hydro 5 came into production not only did I fond them more comfortable in use, offering an even closer shave for less irritation of the skin, but also they lasted much, much longer. Typically I found that the old Hydro 5 lasted up to four weeks of daily shaving of normal daily hair growth. With Gillette I found around two weeks was the limit and by the end the blade was getting pretty scratchy. The other advantage was and still is the lower cost of the Hydro 5, which comes in quite a lot less than Gillette blades.
