I picked this up in the local chemist, not expecting much for the £2.40 price tag. I am very glad to say that I have been proved wrong. I use a safety razor (Merkur 37C) so a good lather is vital for me to have a confortable shave. I usually do 4 passes on my face and one application of soap on the brush is enough for my entire shave. It forms a nice and soapy lather which allows the razor to glide smoothly and, more importantly, this soap protects really well: when I'm using it I get a full shave an no nicks. It may not produce the thickest lather, but for the quality of the lather this doesn't bother me in the slightest. The smell is pleasant, but relatively inoffensive: soap with a hint of citrus lemon. Overall this soap surprised me: low cost, but very effective when using a safety razor. Great protection and allows the razor to gluide across the face effortlessly. Highly recommended.

Will work, but not very well., 25 Sept. 2015

Thought I'd try this after spotting it in Superdrug for only £2.50. This really is a cheap, and sort of cheerful product.To use its ok I guess but in order to get it to work effectively you would need plenty of water on your brush and a good shaving bowl, its very very difficult to work a lather from this from the bowl its in. Once you get past that the lather is...ok too. It claims to improve razor glide but many times to me it felt like I was almost shaving dry especially on the second pass, not a very nice feeling at all. Perhaps this soap is meant more for a cartridge razor rather than a straight.The Proraso range may be more expensive but is far superior to this, I can't stress enough how much difference the soap you use will make to your shave. Better to save your face than your wallet in my opinion.

Cheap and long long lasting, 31 Dec. 2015

Takes a while to lather up but at this price and bearing in mind how long its last, its a bargain. I prefer it to cans of pressurised gel, foam etc. Cant beat a good ol' soap, shaving brush, safety razor and pinauld.
