Yardley of London "English Lavender" Moisturising Body Mist
Yardley is a long-standing name in the toiletry, fragrance and cosmetic world. In respect of Yardley fragrances, they are reminiscent of the traditional English garden, and have a following across the full age spectrum. Given the popularity of 'retro'/ 'vintage' type products in all genres, I can see that this "English Lavender" Body Mist could prove to be very popular, and I love the fact it is Made in England!
1st Impressions:
• The presentation is so pretty and fresh.
• The clear spray bottle is made of plastic, which makes it nice and safe in case it is dropped in the bathroom, or anywhere else for that matter. Pull off the little transparent plastic cap and atop the shiny silver bottle collar is an easy to use spray plunger.
• Printed on the bottle label, are a description (in English and French) and a List of Ingredients, for those who have to be wary of...

When we think of Yardley we always associate lavender with it.
This Yardley London English Lavender Fragrance Mist is a good product but not quite what you expect it to be.
Firstly the fragrance is Lavender but not the normal, makes your eyes water, full in your face Lavender smell this is much more subtle than that and the addition of bergamot, clary sage, eucalyptus, geranium, jasmine, chamomile, violet, wood, vanilla and patchouli really round this fragrance in a much more subtle, much more pleasing scent.
Now we each have different sense of smells. Some people will catch a trace of each of those ingredients others just a few.
We noticed the hit of patchouli first then the wood finally the lavender scent hit well.
It is listed as a moisturising fragrance body mist but is a very light one indeed.
It is a really pleasing fragrance and makes an excellent spray to use on your pillows at night.
The lavender really does help...

Yardley are well known for their products and Lavender seems to be the one uppermost in our minds when we think of the company. It can have a love-hate relationship in our memories of "the olden days" but do not be fooled, this one has a twist. First of all the Lavender is softened by other fragrances, this doesn`t smell of the Lavender oils we see in aromatherapy shops. It has a rounder and more subtle edge to it, if you like woody fragrances as I do this one is a contender.
On the skin I find this suitable for daytime wear, to be honest I haven`t noticed any benefits of the softening agents though the ingredients list does contain some way down close to the bottom. What I like to use it for is a room/linen spray and at this price for a 200ml bottle it represents excellent value. I sprayed the pillows and sheets a few hours before going to bed and liked the lightness of the fragrance, Lavender does help as a relaxing agent. This morning I could still detect a faint touch...
