This is pricey but worth the money although I now have to buy another because the first was squirreled away by my wife within 24 hours of arrival! The one-handed action is the key to the simplicity of use; it doesn't pull hairs; it is very well made of quality steel; and it doesn't get in the way with recharging wires or need batteries. The only possible downside is that it is bulkier than the two handed version without the pivoting mechanism but one-handed operation is the key factor. Try using a two-hand trimmer and holding a mirror at the same time. There was a cheaper, identical-looking trimmer on Amazon but after seeing this one I don't see how that version can match the quality. Of course, you could get the cheaper one first for acquisitive partners!

Not up to the job, 23 July 2015
The first one broke quite quickly even though it was only used occasionally and the replacement broke after just a few uses. Even though it cost far more than the £1.60 buzz trim battery device from China that replaced it, I doubt I'll get a refund now as it's been sat around for a while. Expensive mistake.The whole point of buying a solid looking, manually operated device is to last and not require constant battery changes. However, operating this is tediously slow and difficult and the 'spin' speed you can achieve by pressing the arms in is just not enough to do the job.

Good value for money, 2 April 2012
Having used a few electric devices and found their quality wanting, I invested in this well-designed and solidly built trimmer. It's operable with one hand, effective and simple to dismantle and clean. The old adage of paying more for quality is more than evident in this product. Heartily recommended.
