Very good hair straighteners, 25 May 2016

These straighteners look really good. They are black with green parts on the blades. They come in a nice box with a useful heat resistant bag with a velcro strap for holding cable and plug. They are light weight which is important both for handling and travelling. Instructions are on box but they are easy to use. One switch to switch on. They heat very quickly and there is a warning light to show they are on. I am grateful for this as when they are left on, and lying on carpet, by nobody knows who, I know to switch off before picking them up. All my granddaughters have long hair and all of them at one time or another leave their straighteners at home. One of them changes her hair style frequently so the facility of curls is great. They are lovely for straightening hair and hair glides through easily and smoothly. Not quite so good for curls as they don't stay in too long. Have not heard of this brand before but will certainly be on the look out in the future.

To put this review into context, I have thick, wavy hair that is quite long and usually wear it naturally wavy, using straighteners only to smooth out the top layer and neaten the front. I do this using an old pair of GHDs that I have had for years. So, the elie straightener:

Pros:

It is light (not really any lighter than my GHDs though, I compared)

The slimmer size is handy for travelling, as is the pouch that comes with them, it keeps them neat and has band to secure the lead outside of the bag

They heat up quickly

The swivel lead is great, as is the ergonomic design, making gripping them easy and comfortable

They did glide through and straighten the front and top sections of my hair without much better so would work for neatening my hair when wavy

Good price

Cons:

I didn't find them to be any lighter than my GHDs, or shorter, so not sure I would take these or the GHDs away if travelling
